I went into Flickr and geotagged the 11 photos I uploaded. Turns out they were shot in 3 different locations. It's pretty cool to think someone can find my photos just because they were shot in an area they happen to be interested in. I checked out the map of the world and looked at Alaska, amazing scenery!
I am familiar with geocaching. I used to work on as a Divemaster on a scuba diving live-aboard sailboat. There was a piece on a shipwreck called the "Bimini Barge" just off the island of Bimini in the Bahamas. It was a pretty big deal because there was a pretty big prize and this piece was supposedly one of the hardest ones to get, since you had to breathe underwater to get it. The game was "geo"something. Geo Tag? Geo Hunt? Geo Metro?
Wow, I made it... and just under 12 hours. This was very educational, useful, helpful, spoonful for me. I'm looking forward to getting my photos on all of this stuff. Just have some editing and organizing to do.
I now have 24 Facebook friends. This is going to be trouble.

Thing XV
I love podcasts! I subscribe to The Current Song of the Day, The Onion Headline of the Day, The Grateful Dead Concerts and a few others. They go right to my iPod and I love it.
This was a good Thing for me because I've been meaning to subscribe to one with RSS. I hooked up the "Common Man" from KFAN.
There are a few too many podcasts out there for me to really get into it and I don't see myself making my own.

All the links led me to the same calculator, the "Research Project Calculator." This could be very useful to anyone faced with a deadline. I think I could benefit from this, it might help with my procrastination, see me doing Things at 12:30 in the morning. I typed my graduation date in the schedule and it came up with a nice time line with the first task to be done next week. The next task was due a month later and so on. I may leave this and start entering info to see how my last six months at Ai should go.
Thing XIII
1. I already use iGoogle and I really like it. I have a personalized scoreboard that shows the scores of my favorite teams. There a calender and movie time thing and other widgets that are fun and useful. I used to use it for my home page, now I use a blank page so I don't have to wait for loading.
2. My favorite tool is the weather widget.
3. I'm not real sure about online calendars. I already use iCal although it would be useful to access my calendar from other computers. I went with #1 in the article, Google Calendar. I already have a Google account so I can reduce the clutter. It's pretty much the same as iCal.
4. I signed up for remember the Milk and made a list of things I want to do during spring break. I have the same list on good old fashioed paper like I always have. This is one thing I don't think I'll go digital with. If I had to put money down I'd bet this online list will never get checked off, not because I didn't do the stuff but because I didn't log onto the site ever again.
5. I did not try out Backpack, I looked over it and it looks like it could be very useful - but not to me.
6. I took a look at Zamzar. I'm pretty excited about this. I love having a Mac but it's annoying when I can't open one my PC friend's stuff. Definitely bookmarked.

Thing XII
I put some tags on my blogs. This is something I'm definitely accustomed to. Tags go on my images all the time; website, Flickr and Lightroom. The advantage to tagging is obviously to make your stuff easily accessible and the more tags the easier access.
I'm pretty excited about del.icio.us. My bookmarks are a mess and it will be awesome to organize them; photography, sports, networking, etc. I can also see the advantage this would have for research. I'm also looking forward to having my bookmarks at school.

I have heard about eFolio Minnesota and I think it's a great idea. I'm glad I'm on there, now I just need to enter my info and more pics. Here is my site with a photo in the work samples. I think this could be very helpful for potential employers to find me. It is definitely a great way to get your name out there and this is very informational with a formal appearance. It's nice that you can include info such as education and awards.
Thing X
I went to Big Huge Labs and used the Mosaic Maker and linked it to my Flickr photos. It would be much cooler if there were like 30 pics. There are a lot of really cool tools on there. Some could be useful others are just fun.
